The Ed Fund's Annual Excellence in Education Gala
The Ed Fund's Annual Excellence in Education Gala is a wonderful opportunity for the entire West Contra Costa County community to come together in celebration and support of our public schools. Every year, usually in May, The Ed. Fund honors the Teaching Excellence Award winners, the Distinguished Citizen Award winner and the Ed. Fund Scholarship winners to celebrate academic achievement in our schools.

In 2013, we honored the following Teaching Excellence Award winners:
  • Nathan Jackson, DeJean Middle School
  • Beth Levine, Montalvin Elementary School
  • Steve Mainini, Kennedy High School
  • Mike Mannix, Richmond High School
  • Eric Verprauskus, Lincoln Elementary School
In April 2013, the Ed Fund also honored the Distinguished Staff Award winner, Finy Prak. Ms. Prak is a counselor on special assignment in the district, and she played an instrumental role in helping 2013 high seniors receive more financial aid to attend college.

20 of the 90 Ed Fund Scholarship finalists were also in attendance.

Stay tuned for the photo album of the event! The Ed Fund would like to thank everyone who supported us by attending.

A special thanks goes to our event sponsors, who made it possible to put on a very successful event.
