The annual Getting Ready for College Conference for West County students will be held on Saturday,
September 26, 2015 from 9:00am-2:00pm at the Richmond Memorial Convention Center at 403 Civic Center Plaza in Richmond. Here are some of the resources made available to conference attendees. College Tips & Help.

This free conference is open to all 10th, 11th and 12th graders and their parents throughout the West Contra Costa Unified School District (WCCUSD). Students and parents will learn about how to make college a reality by participating in workshops on Personal Statement Writing, How to be Competitive for College, and Choosing Your Best Fit College. In addition, conference attendees will learn about college life from former WCCUSD students, how to pay for college and the Richmond Promise, and get a feel for college life.

The event is hosted jointly by the City of Richmond, EAOP, the Ed Fund, West Contra Costa Unified School District, Writer Coach Connection, and the West County College Access Network (WCCAN), a consortium of 25+ organizations dedicated to increasing the number of college-bound students in the district.

Parents and students are encouraged to attend together, but students may attend without their parents. The event is wheelchair-accessible. To register, click here. Registration in advance is preferred but not required.
