Taking into consideration that I am apart of a quarter system, I did not exactly expect for everything to move so fast at first. In the beginning of the year, it became hard for me to balance my time. Time management wasn’t exactly my forte, and it made life so much harder than it had to be. Having two jobs, being in a fraternity, and going to school was a lot to juggle, but everything ended up being just all right. I also have a girlfriend, so making time to see her was and is quite difficult. Looking back at the beginning of the year, I can say that my time management has improved significantly, and my grades show it. Fall quarter I received a 2.5 GPA, and this past quarter, Winter quarter, I received a 3.5, bumping my cumulative GPA to a 3.2. Now that I finally am starting to get the hang of this quarter system, I can say that I am ready for my sophomore year. I believe my grades are the area I improved in the most. My classes were not hard In the beginning, but it was balancing my time that was so hard. The workload wasn’t what bothered me, but more so juggling everything on my to-do-list. When I am taking twelve units, having two jobs that are far away from school, dealing with financial issues, in a fraternity, and handling all of my documents for school, it is a little hard to stay level headed. But I managed to do so all throughout my first year, and I will certainly end it as such. I am not planning on living on campus next year, for I am moving out with a bunch of my pledge brothers. I am grateful for what Cal State housing had to offer, and it certainly helped me develop a sense of community.
