Since our earliest beginnings, the Ed Fund has managed a college scholarship program aimed at supporting low-income graduating seniors from the West Contra Costa Unified School District. Since 2005, over $1.6 million in scholarships have been awarded to over 560 deserving students. These scholarships not only alleviate financial burdens but also empower recipients to pursue their higher education aspirations with confidence. The Ed Fund remains steadfast in its mission to provide equitable opportunities for all students, ensuring their success in college, career, and life.
This year, we are proud to continue supporting our students by offering six different scholarships to exceptional individuals who demonstrate academic excellence, leadership potential, and a commitment to serving their community: The Contra Costa Chorale Vocal Music Studies Scholarship, the Freggarrio Family Scholarship, the Schroeder Family Foundation Scholarship, the Makana Pule Scholarship, the Ed Fund West General Scholarship and the African American Scholarship.
All scholarship applicants must:
- Demonstrate financial need
- Complete the FAFSA/CADA application by April 2, 2024
- Plan to attend a 2 or 4-year College or University immediately after graduation
- Graduate from a public WCCUSD high school (ECHS, PVHS, DAHS, RHS, KHS, HHS, MCHS, Vista, or Greenwood Academy)
